Solar Philippines to Build Largest Solar Farm in Luzon Calatagan, Batangas – After pioneering the nation’s first large-scale solar rooftop projects, Solar Philippines claims a new frontier with the launch of the largest solar farm in Luzon. At the ceremonial groundbreaking of the 50 MW project in Calatagan, Batangas, attended by officials from the local and national government, Solar Philippines President Leandro Leviste marked the event as a turning point for renewable energy in Batangas, which is home to both the nation’s largest number of fossil fuel plants and various eco-tourism destinations. The ground-mounted system will comprise over 150,000 solar panels, covering over 75 hectares of land owned by the company. Once completed this year, it shall generate enough energy to power the m...

Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija 26 May 2016 President Benigno S. Aquino III led the inauguration of the 10-megawatt (MW) Solar Farm Project in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, spearheaded by the First Cabanatuan Renewable Ventures Incorporated or FCRVI. Recognizing its vital role in combating climate change, President Aquino said that the 39,456 solar panels would supply renewable energy to the whole Luzon grid. The solar farm is situated in a 12-hectare land area in Cabanatuan and is expected to lessen the Philippines’ carbon emission by up to 16,500 metric tons every year. He added that this is the fifth solar project he has seen, saying that if such projects will push through in the upcoming years, it will be beneficial not only as an alternative source of energy, but for the environment ...

Calatagan, Batangas 16 March 2016 As a strong gesture of support in meeting the Philippines’ commitments under the Paris Agreement on Climate Change formed during the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP21) held in France last November 2015, President Benigno S. Aquino III inaugurated the Calatagan 63.3-megawatt (MW) Solar Farm in Batangas. The President led the switch-on ceremony of the largest solar farm to be completed in Luzon that was developed, financed and constructed by Solar Philippines, the country’s number one solar provider and the only all-in-one solar financing and construction company. The project encompasses more than 200,000 panels on a 160-hectare property that can supply enough electricity for the entire western Batangas and can power over 100,000 households. It is par...

Consisting of 10,880 solar panels and covering 1.75 hectares of roof space, the solar array at Robinsons Starmills will harness more than 2.88 Megawatts of power during peak hours, offsetting up to 95% of daytime demand. As of May 2016, the Robinsons shopping mall in San Fernando, Pampanga is the largest own-use photovoltaic (PV) facility in the Philippines. The system is expected to generate almost 4 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of energy during its first full year of operation and also cut annual carbon emissions equivalent to 2.25 million kg of CO2. This is comparable to planting 100,000 trees or removing 5.5 million miles worth of CO2 emissions generated by a car.
